Lou Lamoureux

Lou Lamoureux, 33, lives with his wife Adrienne and their two children, Lorelai and Roland, in Herndon, VA.

Diagnosed with a serious kidney disease while still in high school, Lou’s kidneys ultimately failed him. Luckily, he was able to receive a kidney transplant from his mother, Donna, in September of 2000, and his recovery has been a story of personal triumph. Since that time, Lou has pursued a successful competitive cycling career, having won gold medals in the 2002 U.S. Transplant Games, and top-ten finishes in the 2003 World Transplant Games in Nancy, France.

This Spring, Lou will compete in a 24 Hour time trial in the hopes of qualifying for RAAM’s solo division next year. In the meantime, Lou is training hard for his ride with Team Give Life in this year’s four-man division. Team Give Life is proud and fortunate to have Lou as a teammate, and as a tremendous supporter of the cause.

When Lou isn’t working as the Director of Marketing and co-founder of Optimum Fitness Results LLC (which creates and markets cycling videos), he is a strong advocate for organ transplantation.
